The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael (DG Opomulero), has commended the Executive Council of Ondo State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving landmark projects that will accelerate economic growth and improve the quality of life of the people of Ondo State.
DG Opomulero described the approval of the $1.6 million UNIDO Small Hydropower Project at the Owena Dam and the 7.5-megawatt gas-fired power plant for government facilities as bold and strategic decisions that will strengthen the state’s energy security, reduce the cost of governance, and enhance efficient public service delivery.
According to him, reliable electricity remains a critical driver of industrialization, investment, healthcare, education, and sustainable economic development. He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again demonstrated visionary leadership by investing in projects that will have lasting benefits for future generations.
He also applauded the Executive Council for approving the state’s counterpart funding for the Owena Urban Water Project, describing access to clean and potable water as an essential component of public health and community development.
DG Opomulero further hailed the approval of the conversion of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, into Rufus Giwa University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, describing it as a historic step that will expand higher education, encourage agricultural research, promote technological innovation, and create more opportunities for young people across the state.
He equally commended the ratification of 21 infrastructure projects across various local government areas, saying the decision reflects Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to balanced development and his determination to ensure that every part of Ondo State benefits from the dividends of democracy.
“These approvals are not mere announcements; they are practical demonstrations of purposeful leadership. Governor Aiyedatiwa is building a stronger economy, improving critical infrastructure, and positioning Ondo State as one of the leading states in Nigeria,” DG Opomulero stated.
He urged the people of Ondo State to continue supporting the Governor’s administration, stressing that sustained public support would enable the government to consolidate on its achievements and deliver even greater progress.
DG Opomulero reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Opomulero Group for the Aiyedatiwa administration, expressing confidence that the Governor’s people-centered policies will continue to bring sustainable development, prosperity, and renewed hope to every community in Ondo State.
