The attention of Tope Liberty Cares has been drawn to the interview granted by Barrister Ajisafe on Adaba 88.9 FM, in which he criticised the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
While every citizen has the constitutional right to express an opinion, public commentary must be guided by facts, fairness, and objectivity rather than political frustration. It is both unfair and misleading to expect Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to resolve challenges that accumulated over several decades within a relatively short period in office.
The judiciary, infrastructure, and many public institutions in Ondo State have evolved through different administrations. Every government inherited challenges from its predecessors while also making meaningful contributions. It is therefore intellectually dishonest to place the entire burden of decades-old issues on the shoulders of the present administration.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated genuine commitment to governance through infrastructural development, institutional reforms, improved welfare policies, and initiatives aimed at strengthening the justice sector. These achievements deserve objective assessment rather than politically motivated criticism.
It is also instructive that Barrister Ajisafe admitted during the interview that Governor Aiyedatiwa had received recognition from the Nigerian Bar Association for his administration’s commitment to judicial development. Having acknowledged such recognition, it is contradictory to dismiss the same administration without presenting verifiable facts to support such criticism.
Constructive criticism remains an essential pillar of democracy, but allegations capable of misleading the public must always be supported with credible evidence. Personal grievances should never be presented as objective political analysis.
On the political front, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu built the All Progressives Congress into a formidable political institution through decades of sacrifice, resilience, and strategic leadership. Likewise, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has earned the confidence of the people through his leadership and electoral success. Attempts to diminish his political relevance through media campaigns will not alter the confidence that the people of Ondo State have reposed in him.
Tope Liberty Cares therefore commends the Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael, for speaking courageously in defence of truth and fairness. We urge political stakeholders to embrace constructive engagement and support every effort aimed at promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ondo State.
The people of Ondo State deserve issue-based politics, not propaganda. History will ultimately judge every administration by its performance and tangible achievements, not by the volume of politically motivated media attacks.
