The Director General of the Opomulero Movement, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has responded to recent political commentaries by Sola Ajisafe, Esq, stating that the people of Ondo State remain solidly behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa because of his peaceful leadership style, political maturity, and commitment to unity and development.
According to the DG, attempts to portray Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership as vindictive or anti-democratic are nothing more than political propaganda aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and misleading the public.
Hon. Olasupo stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently demonstrated calmness, inclusiveness, and strategic leadership in managing party affairs and governance, unlike some politicians and commentators who thrive on division and sensational political narratives.
“The people of Ondo State are politically wise and can clearly identify the difference between genuine leadership and political propaganda. Governor Aiyedatiwa has continued to unite stakeholders, reconcile aggrieved members, and strengthen the APC across the state. That is why the people continue to stand with him,” he said.
The DG further defended the growing acceptance of Hon. Taiwo Fasoranti, noting that his popularity is a product of years of loyalty, grassroots engagement, humility, and consistent relationship with party members across Ondo State.
“Taiwo Fasoranti is enjoying support because he has earned the trust and confidence of the grassroots through dedication and accessibility. His acceptance is not built on intimidation or political manipulation but on genuine relationship with the people,” the statement added.
Hon. Olasupo also rejected claims that consensus-building within the APC amounts to suppression of political ambition, stressing that consultation and consensus remain globally accepted democratic strategies for maintaining party stability and avoiding unnecessary internal crisis.
He emphasized that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains focused on governance, infrastructural development, peace-building, and strengthening the APC for future electoral success, rather than engaging in politics of bitterness and revenge.
The DG therefore advised political actors and commentators to avoid inflammatory statements capable of overheating the polity, urging all stakeholders to support efforts aimed at preserving unity, peace, and progress within Ondo State.
“History will remember Governor Aiyedatiwa as a leader who prioritized stability, peace, and party unity over political vendetta and unnecessary conflict,” he concluded.
Signed:
Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
