HON AJIBOLA ADETULA FAULTS OWO/OSE PRIMARY ELECTION EXERCISE, CALLS IT AN ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY

House of Representatives aspirant for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Ajibola Adetula, has strongly rejected the outcome of the election process conducted in Owo Local Government, insisting that the exercise lacked credibility and democratic integrity.

Adetula described the process as deeply flawed and far from what should be expected in a transparent and fair democratic exercise. According to him, the events that unfolded during the election did not reflect the true wishes of party members and the people of the constituency.

Speaking on the development, the aspirant said the process was marred by irregularities and actions capable of undermining public confidence in democracy.

“What happened in Owo cannot be described as a genuine election. It was a disappointing exercise that failed to meet the basic principles of fairness, openness, and justice expected in any democratic process,” he stated.

He lamented that the voices of committed party faithful were allegedly sidelined, while the credibility of the entire exercise was called into question by actions that appeared manipulated in favour of certain interests.

Ajibola Adetula further urged the leadership of the party and relevant stakeholders to carefully review the conduct of the election and investigate all reported irregularities to protect the integrity of the democratic process.

He emphasized that democracy should always be built on transparency, equal participation, and the free choice of the people rather than intimidation or predetermined arrangements.

Despite the outcome, Adetula assured his supporters across Owo/Ose Federal Constituency that he remains committed to the pursuit of justice, fairness, and quality representation for the people.
