The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael (DG Opomulero), has applauded the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for yet another remarkable demonstration of people-oriented governance through the commissioning of a one-kilometre concrete walkway, a modern potable water scheme in Obe-Nla, Ilaje Local Government Area, and the flag-off of an additional three-kilometre concrete walkway.
According to DG Opomulero, Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again shown that governance is about identifying the real needs of the people and providing practical solutions, not embarking on projects designed merely for political headlines.
“For decades, our riverine communities have lived with enormous infrastructural challenges. Many residents relied on unsafe wooden walkways and lacked access to clean drinking water. Today, Governor Aiyedatiwa has replaced neglect with hope, danger with safety, and hardship with sustainable development.”
He noted that critics who underestimate the significance of concrete walkways in riverine communities clearly do not understand the realities of life in Ilaje and Ese-Odo, stressing that what may appear ordinary to outsiders represents dignity, safety, economic growth, and improved access to education and healthcare for the people.
DG Opomulero further commended the Governor’s commitment to land reclamation, describing it as a visionary intervention that will expand habitable land, boost economic activities, and secure the future of vulnerable coastal communities.
He also praised the administration’s strategic collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners to combat coastal erosion, flooding, and sea incursion, describing it as evidence of a government that plans beyond today and prepares for tomorrow.
“The rehabilitation of the potable water scheme with a modern reverse osmosis treatment facility is another proof that Governor Aiyedatiwa is not just constructing infrastructure but improving the quality of life of the people. Clean water is life, and this administration understands that.”
DG Opomulero equally applauded the leadership of OSOPADEC under Prince Olabiyi Poroye for complementing the Governor’s developmental agenda through impactful projects, scholarships, healthcare interventions, youth empowerment programmes, maritime security initiatives, and its bold climate resilience agenda aimed at protecting the future of the oil-producing communities.
He urged the people of Ilaje and the entire mandate area to continue supporting the administration and to safeguard the newly commissioned facilities for future generations.
