The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has commended the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving and flagging off the disbursement of about ₦2.4 billion in gratuities to retirees in the state.
The payment, which was officially launched in Akure, forms part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to clear long-standing arrears owed to pensioners who have waited several years for their entitlements.
According to the DG Opomulero, the governor’s action reflects a strong sense of responsibility, compassion, and respect for those who have served the state diligently in their active years.
He noted that the Aiyedatiwa-led administration has demonstrated consistency in addressing inherited financial burdens, particularly unpaid gratuities, through structured and transparent payment plans.
“Clearing backlog of retirees’ benefits is not just a policy decision, it is a moral duty and a reflection of leadership accountability,” the statement emphasized.
DG Opomulero further described the initiative as a restoration of dignity to retirees and a clear indication that the government is committed to prioritizing workers’ welfare despite fiscal challenges.
He urged residents and stakeholders to continue supporting the administration’s reform-driven approach to governance, noting that sustained payment of gratuities will strengthen trust between government and the people.
